NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS
HOW VALUABLE EVERY SINGLE DAY IS?
With due acknowledgement to an unknown author, the article below challenges us on the way we should be thinking about 2012 and beyond. Do we want to continue to do the same things we have done over the last few years or do we want to break out of this mould!
“Get around the right people. Associate with positive, goal-oriented people who encourage and inspire you. Avoid negative people at all costs. They are the greatest destroyers of self-confidence and self-esteem.” (Brian Tracy)
“What did we talk about the whole evening? How we have time for nothing else but work, work, work all the time. Taking care of other people’s needs, building other people’s businesses. We all come home tired in the evenings and all we have energy for is to eat, do the laundry and flop on the sofa to watch TV. What happened to the dreamers we all were at school?
The things we would do if we had one month to live. Call all our family members and friends and tell them we love them. Travel to Hawaii and watch the sun set. Go to see a real volcano. Write a novel. Go to the opera. Paint scenery we love. Donate money to a charity. Buy a new car. Read the Bible from cover to cover. Go meditate in a Buddhist centre. Plant trees. Read that archaeology book that has been collecting dust for years.
Children are our future
It makes you think, doesn’t it? It makes us realize how valuable every single day is. And yet most of us are so stuck in our everyday routines that we don’t even question what we are doing anymore.”
“Spend eighty percent of your time focusing on the opportunities of tomorrow rather than the problems of yesterday.” (Brian Tracy)
2012 could be a magical year full of promise and opportunity for you – looking forward to an exciting twelve months ahead – here in the United Kingdom there are the Queen’s 60th Anniversary Celebrations and the Olympics taking place in London. Equally all over the world there are wonderful things taking place.
So – it’s not a perfect world but “life is what you make it!” It is all up to you.
Make some New Year’s Resolutions; make a list of all the things you would like to do in 2012 and tick them off as you achieve them; set realistic goals for the next year, 3 years and 5 years; talk with positive people who could help you to achieve your dreams and financial aspirations. The choices are there but at the end of the day IT IS UP TO YOU!
