CONSIDERATION FOR OTHERS

A friend of mine knew a neighbour for many years and in just the last two years he introduced her to the world of Morris Dancing and the Folk Club scene in Devon. In this time they travelled all over the UK and France and he opened a whole new way of life for her.

This was one of the happiest times in her life. After about a year she realised that he was suffering badly with prostate cancer but he was determined to really enjoy the rest of his life. They continued to travel as much as possible, went on a cruise to Finland, Estonia, Germany and St Petersburg and she really got to know his family very well who lived in the UK and Iceland.

He became very ill and in his last 2/3 months she looked afer him every day. Sadly he died last year but his family were so grateful to her and invited her for a holiday in Iceland and have become very close friends with her ever since. He left a legacy for her which is truly wonderful and she now spends life continuing that way of life all because she showed a little kindness.

It is truly amazing how a person showing a little consideration for and helping others can lead to such a happy future for that person. He was a real gentleman and would never be forgotten by his family and friends.
